We will get the taste of bustling streets, local snacks, and cuisine. In the evening, our guide will check all the necessary gear and ensure logistics. Today marks our first and official start of the adventure. It will be a long yet scenic drive along the Prithvi Highway, passing the lush hills and terraced fields. The journey will follow the Marsyagdi riverbed as we ascend towards the higher valleys. The roads are winding into the bumpy sections, which will give a truly adventurous start to the trek. We will reach Dharapani by the evening. Dharapani is a small teahouse village. We will stay overnight in the serene environment.

This will be a stage-setting day for the adventure ahead. Trekkers must register here with the police before continuing the journey ahead. Overnight in Koto.

We will have a long and challenging trek as we follow the narrow trails carved into the cliffs. We will pass through the dense forests and suspension bridges. The difficult hours of uphill climbs will take you to Meta. Meta is a windswept plain with the magical views of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal. This village will give you a sense of isolation as it is sparsely inhabited. We will gain a significant amount of altitude gain and that will be visible with alpine meadows as well.

We will leave Meta for Phu today. The landscape will become increasingly barren and rugged that resembling the Himalayan desert. The trail will wind through the rocky gorges and ancient villages. As we move higher, Phu village waits for our arrival with the contrasting mani walls, fluttering prayer flags and and chortens. The village of Phu is perched in the higher above the valley and will feel like a hidden treasure. Overnight in Phu.

Today is a reserved day for rest, as we have gained a significant altitude from the first day. This day is vital for adjusting to the higher altitude. This day will allow you to have a rich cultural immersion and ensure you are prepared for the trek ahead.

Our acclimatization day has ensured we are prepared enough to undertake the trek again. The trail today will involve a classic descent into the valley before we climb over the scenic bridges. There will be dotted Buddhist shrines and prayer stones along the route, making our cultural encounters richer and more diverse. Nar is a more vibrant and larger settlement as compared to Phu. The village is surrounded by the terraced fields and grazing pastures along the route. Trekkers often find Nar a sociable and colourful village.

Today, it will be a tough and rewarding day of trek. We will wake up early and start the climb steadily towards the Kang La Pass. This traditional village will offer us the beautiful monasteries of cozy lodges. Ngawal will be a perfect resting place after the tough day of crossing the Kang La Pass.

Spending time and exploring the village will allow us to enjoy and relax in the rich Himalayan atmosphere.

The trail today will follow the main Annapurna route before it diverts towards Tilicho. We will pass through Shree Kharka when the path becomes narrow and carved into the steep slopes. The trail is rocky and landslide-prone, so it is very important to walk very carefully on the route. We will have challenging final steps before reaching the Tilicho Base Camp that sits in a dramatic high-altitude setting. It serves as the launching point for Tilicho Lake.

We will retrace our trail back through Shree Kharka. The trail diverts towards Yak Kharka. Yak Kharka is a high-altitude grazing region for the yaks. The peaceful atmosphere around this village makes this a perfect spot for enjoying a restful evening and preparing for the high-altitude trek ahead.

Today we will trek for a short time, as this could get to a challenging spot due to the altitude. The trail climbs steadily through the rocky terrain and suspension bridges. We will reach Thorong Phedi(Base of Thorong) and rest there for the afternoon. This is also the famous resting point before crossing the Thorong La pass. Some trekkers opt to stay in the high camp, but due to acclimatization reasons, we have scheduled our stopover at this point. Rest is essential here to prepare for the longest day awaiting tomorrow.

Today will be our most strenuous day. We will begin early with the steep ascent to Thorong La Pass. Today, we will reach our highest point of the trek at 5416m while embarking on the summit of the pass. The climb is strenuous but will reward us with the striking panorama of the peaks like Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. We will descend on the other side, which is equally challenging. However, when we reach Muktinath, the tiredness will transform into spirituality. Overnight in Muktinath. Today is truly a remarkable day.
Day 16

We will leave the high mountains behind us as we have a scenic drive towards Pokhara. We will drive through the winding roads of hills with some bumpy sections. The journey offers a mix of arid landscapes, river valleys, and terraced farmlands. We will reach Pokhara by the evening and enjoy the calm and chaos of Phewa Lake. Phewa is Nepal’s most beautiful lakeside. After having spent two weeks in the remote mountains, Pokhara will offer urban amenities.

We will take a scenic drive along the Prithvi Highway, or we could also have the option to fly to Kathmandu. Although the road is long, the changing landscapes will provide us with plenty of views to enjoy. We will transfer to the hotel after arriving in Kathmandu. The evening will be yours for shopping for souvenirs, exploring the Thamel bustle. There is a success party and farewell dinner scheduled for you, as it will be your last day in Nepal.

Your final day in Nepal will begin with breakfast at the hotel. Depending on the flight time, you still have a few last hours for shopping the souvenirs. A transfer will take you to Tribhuvan International Airport for the departure. As you leave, you will carry the unforgettable memories of the Himalayan landscapes around Annapurna. The local hospitality and personal achievements from the challenging yet rewarding experience. This will mark the end of your journey to Nepal, and we hope we have many stories to share.

    1) How remote is the Nar Phu Valley compared to other treks in Nepal?

    Nar Phu is one of the most remote and secluded trekking sections in Nepal. It is far more remote than the commercialized trekking routes like Everest and Annapurna.

    2) Do I need a special permit for the restricted Nar Phu Valley?

    Yes, trekkers require a Nar Phu Restricted Area Permit (RAP), which is only issued through a registered trekking agency. Alpine Vista Treks will help you.

    3) Can beginners attempt the Nar Phu Valley with Tilicho Lake Trek?

    This trek is not recommended for beginners or unfit trekkers. We only advise the seasoned trekkers with prior high-altitude experience for some obvious reasons.

    Heating services are usually limited to a communal stove in the dining area. The rooms are not heated; you have to bring a sleeping bag for enough heat.

    9) How long does it take to cross Thorong La Pass during this trek?

    The crossing of Thorong La Pass typically takes 8 hours to complete. We need to start from early dawn and will finish during the late afternoon.
